Can you replace just the railing?
Yes. Railings and spindles can be replaced on their own, and are one of the quickest ways to update a house.
Do you cap over carpeted stairs?
Yes. Capping over an existing stair is often the best value if the structure is sound.
Do you do exterior stairs?
Yes. Porch steps, deck stairs and railings, in cedar or composite.
